Cool Schools Coordinator Workshops are a new Peace Foundation initiative. These workshops provide an affordable and manageable training and resources for primary schools wishing to introduce Peer Mediation. This year’s workshops have been very popular.

Over the course of the two days, the facilitator takes teacher participants from various schools through the Cool Schools Coordinator training. Day one is the basic primary teacher Cool Schools training while day two focuses on additional skills, tips and resources required to train and maintain a team of school peer mediators.

The Peace Foundation provides morning tea, lunch and a pack of resources to support the implementation of a student-led peer mediation service at school. This two day teacher workshop approach has been highly successful.

At the beginning of August, Christina ran a Waikato workshop. This was kindly hosted by Te Kowhai School, West Hamilton (a big THANK YOU Te Kowhai School). It was attended by 17 teachers from 12 schools. Teacher feedback was very positive.

Christina was highly engaging, enthusiastic and a wealth of knowledge. She was truly
inspiring and helped all participants develop a thorough understanding.
