Interns play a huge role in the Peace Foundation mahi. Midyear, the Foundation farewelled Kavita Loetawan and Lex Scheffer, a young couple from the Netherlands. From February to late June, they worked tirelessly on a variety of different tasks.

This dynamic pair left a huge legacy. Over a six-month period: they assisted with research into the impact of Cool Schools programmes in primary schools; developed reports on Cool Schools and LtPM programmes; and an accountability report for The Simplicity Foundation (who funded $5000 for Auckland Girls’ Grammar School’s Leadership through Peer Mediation training). They also assisted with scripting Cool Schools and LtPM training resources.

Kavita and Lex helped further develop the Peace Foundation’s social media platforms and during their internship regularly contributed to these platforms.

In July the Peace Foundation welcomed new interns from Denmark (Kiara) and Germany (Lea). Our next newsletter will feature on their mahi.
